BOARD OF DIRECTORS (董事会成员)

The Chairperson of the Board oversees the operation of Norwalk Chinese School. The chairperson represents the school and is responsible for internal communication and external outreach.

董事会主席负责诺沃克中文学校的运营，并负责学校内部沟通和外部联络。

Dr. Han Yan is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Fairfield University’s Dolan School of Business, where she teaches introductory financial and managerial accounting as well as accounting information systems. Beyond the classroom, she serves as principal and board chair of Norwalk Chinese School, leading initiatives to expand cultural and educational opportunities for children and families. In this role, she oversees academic programming, partnerships, and community events, reflecting her strong commitment to education and community engagement.

The Director of Education ensures the high quality of teaching at Norwalk Chinese School. The director leads course design, teacher training, and teaching evaluation efforts.

教务主任确保诺沃克中文学校的高质量教学，负责课程设计、教师培训和教学评估工作。

The Director of Treasurer and Fundraising maintains the financial well-being of the school, including budgeting, annual internal and external reporting, and fundraising.

财务与筹款主任维护学校的财务健康，包括预算编制、年度内部和外部报告以及筹款活动。

The Director of Events plans and organizes school events, such as the Chinese New Year celebration, Graduation Ceremony, and Mid-Autumn Day event.

活动主任策划和组织学校活动，如春节联欢会、毕业典礼和中秋节活动。

The Director of Communication is responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to promote the school’s mission and activities and engage with the Norwalk community.

宣传主任负责制定和实施有效的沟通策略，提高学校知名度，并协调与诺沃克社区互动。

The Deputy Director of Communications is responsible for the school’s social media promotion and publicity material design, including WeChat, Red Note, and other communication channels.

副宣传主任负责学校的自媒体推广和宣传文案设计，包括微信、小红书和其他宣传渠道。

The Secretary supports the smooth operation of the Board by keeping accurate records of meetings, distributing agendas and minutes, and helping maintain communication among board members and the school community.  

秘书通过准确记录会议内容、分发议程和会议纪要，并协助保持董事会成员与学校社区之间的沟通，来支持董事会的顺利运作。

Hello, my name is Faith Mailu. My family and I moved to Connecticut two years ago after living in Chengdu, China for ten years. I have two children, ages 10 and 5, who are both fluent in Mandarin. My background is in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering as well as Early Childhood Education. We’re honored to be part of the Chinese Saturday Class community—our son is entering his third year, and our daughter will be starting her first year this fall.

The PTO President leads our parent community in supporting teachers, students, and school events.
