BOARD OF DIRECTORS (董事会成员)

The Chairperson of the Board oversees the overall operations of Norwalk Chinese School, representing the school in both internal governance and external relations. The Chairperson is responsible for facilitating effective communication within the organization and strengthening outreach and partnerships with the broader community.
董事会主席全面负责诺沃克中文学校的运营管理，代表学校开展内部治理与对外事务工作，统筹协调校内沟通，并推动与社区的交流与合作。

Dr. Han Yan is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Fairfield University’s Dolan School of Business, where she teaches introductory courses in financial and managerial accounting as well as accounting information systems. Beyond her academic role, she serves as the Chairperson of the Board of Norwalk Chinese School, where she leads initiatives to expand cultural and educational opportunities for children and families. In this capacity, Dr. Han oversees academic programs, strategic partnerships, and community engagement efforts, demonstrating her strong commitment to education and community development.

闫含博士现任费尔菲尔德大学多兰商学院会计学助理教授，教授财务会计、管理会计及会计信息系统等课程。除教学科研工作外，她还担任诺沃克中文学校董事会主席，致力于为儿童与家庭拓展多元文化与教育机会。在此职位上，她全面负责课程体系建设、合作关系拓展以及社区活动组织，充分体现了其对教育事业与社区发展的高度投入与责任感。

The Principal and Director of Education ensures the high quality of teaching at Norwalk Chinese School. The director leads course design, teacher training, and teaching evaluation efforts.

校长和教务主任确保诺沃克中文学校的高质量教学，负责课程设计、教师培训和教学评估工作。

The Director of Treasurer and Fundraising maintains the financial well-being of the school, including budgeting, annual internal and external reporting, and fundraising.

财务与筹款主任维护学校的财务健康，包括预算编制、年度内部和外部报告以及筹款活动。

The Director of Events plans and organizes school events, such as the Chinese New Year celebration, Graduation Ceremony, and Mid-Autumn Day event.

活动主任策划和组织学校活动，如春节联欢会、毕业典礼和中秋节活动。

The Director of Communication is responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to promote the school’s mission and activities and engage with the Norwalk community.

宣传主任负责制定和实施有效的沟通策略，提高学校知名度，并协调与诺沃克社区互动。

The Secretary supports the smooth operation of the Board by keeping accurate records of meetings, distributing agendas and minutes, and helping maintain communication among board members and the school community.  

秘书通过准确记录会议内容、分发议程和会议纪要，并协助保持董事会成员与学校社区之间的沟通，来支持董事会的顺利运作。

Hello, my name is Faith Mailu. My family and I moved to Connecticut two years ago after living in Chengdu, China for ten years. I have two children, ages 10 and 5, who are both fluent in Mandarin. My background is in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering as well as Early Childhood Education. We’re honored to be part of the Chinese Saturday Class community—our son is entering his third year, and our daughter will be starting her first year this fall.

你好，我是Faith Mailu。两年前，我和家人从中国成都搬到康涅狄格州，此前我们在成都生活了十年。我有两个孩子，分别是10岁和5岁，他们的普通话都很流利。我的专业背景包括机械与航空航天工程以及幼儿教育。能够成为周六中文学校社区的一员，我们深感荣幸——我们的儿子即将进入三年级学习，女儿也将在今年秋天开始她的一年级学习。
